Children, Adolescents & Young Adults

I work with children from the ages of 5-17  and young adults 18-21

Within these ages there are times of change.

Children are learning, growing and forming their identity.

It can be a tough and confusing journey for some.

It is helpful to remember that all children are different. 

Hypnotherapy can be a gentle and effective therapy to help children to make sense of their world

It can help guide them into making helpful changes. 

Because most children have a natural ability to use their imagination they respond well to hypnosis.

 

I have enhanced DBS and have previous experience of working with children.

I work from home or from your home depending on the distance. 

The sessions can be with or without the presence of a parent.

Generally I work without the parent because children will often look to their parents to speak for them or help them to find solutions.

Hypnotherapy can help with a wide range of childhood issues the most common are below:

  • Anxiety 

  • Exam nerves 

  • Fears and phobias 

  • Insomnia 

  • Bed - wetting

 Some other common Issues are - asthma, bladder/bowel issues, bullying, concentration, confidence, eating disorders, fear of dentist, hair pulling, headaches, nail-biting, obesity, pain, relaxation, sleep problems, sports performance,  stuttering, tics

Young Children

Children aged 5 - 12 years old

Story telling, playing games, drawing or bringing in a favourite toy can help to make the hypnotherapy sessions as informal as possible. This can help the younger child feel more comfortable and relaxed.  

 

Teenagers

13- 18 Years

Teenage children respond to a more adult approach. The sessions are relaxed.
